モントリオール一日ツアー！
今日は、妻の友人が日本から来ていたので
一緒にモントリオールの街を観光してきました。
中華街で飲茶をした後、歩いて１０分ほどでオールドモントリオールに到着！
まずは、カナダで一番古くに開業したモントリオール銀行に入ってきました。
用事がない方でも、一度中に入ってはどうでしょうか？って
お勧めしたいぐらい昔の威厳を感じさせる雰囲気です。
その真向かいにあるのが、ノートルダム教会。
北米では最大級のカトリック教会です。
ここからは馬車にのって旧市街地・オールドモントリオールを見学！
まず、見えてくるのは１６００年代の建物です。
４００年前の建物が今ここに存在しているって思っただけでも
何かジーンって伝わってくるものがあります。
名前を忘れましたが、ダルム広場の一角にあったホテルです。
夕方近くなってしまったので、急いでモントリオール植物園に向かいました。。。
が、月曜日は休みでした。１９３１年にオープンした世界最大級の植物園だそうです。
こんな近くにこんな場所があるなんて、今まで知りませんでした・・・・
その植物園の前になるのが、パルクオリンピック。
1976年のモントリオール・オリンピックのメイン会場！
このメイン会場にあるオリンピックタワーは、斜めになっていて、
その傾斜をエレベーターがのぼっていくんですよ。
その展望台から見えるのが、バイオドーム。
その名前の通り、生態系博物館。建物も何か昆虫のような感じがしませんか？
モントリオールの町って、
・現代の街と旧市街地の融合
・世界最大級の○○
・芸術都市を感じさせる建物
魅力的な街ですね。
